"This is your time"- the new album from Michael W. Smith is
in my opinion, the best album of 1999, and his finest since
his classics- i2(eye), go west young man and change your world.
The album starts off with a fine celtic-ish instrumental
but the second track - Hey you it's me explodes right away
and is one of the outstanding tracks of the album. The song is
musically rich with a strong guitar and keyboard base, the chorus
has all the classic hook and melody reminiscent of his earlier works.
The title track this is your time is also another standout.
It starts nice and soft (an flamengo-style intro>can you believe it!!), but as the song progresses, it builds up.After the bridge,
the song just blows off and you can't help it but be in awe.
For me, the other outstanding song was I still have the dream which
was quite a rockin' number.
As expected, Michael comes up with another bunch of sensational
slower ballads and soft mellow songs.
In this album, the best were I will be your friend, I will carry you,
She walks with me, and Anna.
For me, definately the best song on the album is track 12 -
everybody free which is just a superb song highlighted
by a fantastic chorus which has a beautiful melody and lush
strings driving it.

Once again, Michael W. Smith comes up trumps with yet another
fantastic album. The production is more simple and free-flowing
but suits well this time.
So all round, "this is your time" is a great album
which all of you nerds should go out and buy!!
